Dear RIAPP Members and Community:

For 30 years, a small group of dedicated board and programming committee members have volunteered their time and energy to find esteemed presenters and develop events that help our community continue its psychoanalytic inquiry. Program evaluations indicate that our events have been valued and well received, and for that, we are grateful.

The benefits of RIAPP go beyond professional growth and intellectual stimulation. RIAPP is a community. A community of persons dedicated to understanding and helping in the face of opposing pressures. A community that inspires colleagues early in their training and careers, and continues to engage those past retirement. And the only community in Rhode Island dedicated to psychoanalytic ideas and inquiry. 

RIAPP relies on a very small operational budget consisting primarily of membership and lecture attendance fees. Our finances are strained and we are asking today for your financial support. We need donations to maintain the quality of our programming, and for our growth and survival overall.

One of the ways your donation will support RIAPP is in our anti-racism mission. Over the last several years, RIAPP has taken a more intentional role in addressing issues of contemporary relevance and concern, including how race, gender, sexual orientation and other forms of identity play a role in psychodynamic theory and practice. We established the Pay What You Can fee structure to support inclusion and remove educational barriers. We have seen the profound benefits of this and want RIAPP to continue to be a place that supports learning for all, and not just those with socioeconomic privileges.
